A 2007 survey by the University of North Carolina revealed that public libraries returned $5.50 in benefits to citizens for every $1 in tax support. State and Local Coverage UNC, N.C. State, Duke post high ‘green’ grades The Triangle Business Journal A new survey by the Princeton Review gives UNC, N.C. State and Duke good marks for being green. As part of its “Best 368 Colleges” book, being published this week, the Princeton Review assigned schools “green ratings” of between 60 and 99. Schools were measured based on their institutional commitment to the environment, their work on preparing students for the environmental challenges of the workplace, and students’ ability to live sustainably. By that measure, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill earned a 96.
