N.C. Biotechnology Center awards grant to UNC's Destiny program E-mail

The N.C. Biotechnology Center has awarded a $48,770 grant to Morehead Planetarium and Science Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to support the Destiny traveling science learning program. The grant will be used for the development and implementation of “Creating a Chain Reaction,” a new curriculum module from Destiny, the planetarium’s science education outreach initiative.

UNC Kenan-Flagler launches two investment funds managed by business students E-mail

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s  Kenan-Flagler Business School has established what is believed to be the first investment fund in real estate through its Center for Real Estate Development, as well as a private equity fund through its Center for Entrepreneurial Studies. Both funds are run exclusively by business students.

Pharmacy pledge pushes Carolina First to $2.38 billion, 5th largest total in U.S. higher education E-mail

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Chancellor James Moeser today (Jan. 24) announced that the Carolina First Campaign raised $2.38 billion to finish as the fifth largest completed campaign in U.S. higher education and the largest completed fund-raising drive at a university in the South. A $9 million pledge to the UNC School of Pharmacy from Fred Eshelman of Wilmington pushed the campaign to that historic mark.
