Rick Segal, Ph.D., professor and director of the Division of Physical Therapy in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, has been elected as a 2009 Catherine Worthingham Fellow of the American Physical Therapy Association, the most prestigious recognition granted by the organization. Segal received the honor at a ceremony in Baltimore recently as part of the association’s annual national conference.

Carolina Kids Classic celebrates more than two decades of helping N.C. children and families E-mail

For more than two decades since its inception in 1989, UNC coaches have played in and supported the Carolina Kids Classic, a charity golf tournament held each year at UNC Finley Golf Course. The tournament raises funds for The Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill, N.C. Children’s Hospital and The Childhood Trust. This year’s 21st annual tournament will be held Thursday, June 18, with honorary hosts UNC football coach Butch Davis and UNC’s 2009 NCAA championship-winning coach, Roy Williams. Hall of Fame basketball coach Dean Smith will again serve as host emeritus.
