The Sept. 17 performance of Iranian hip-hop artist Yas at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has been cancelled.

Representatives of the artist said Yas will be unable to appear. The performance was to take place in Memorial Hall as part of the 2009-10 Carolina Performing Arts series.

Carolina Performing Arts will provide full refunds to patrons who had already purchased tickets to the performance. For information, call or visit the Memorial Hall Box Office, open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, (919) 843-3333.
