What’s the impact of Carolina? University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill students and young alumni will have the chance to answer that question – and win up to $1,000 – in the inaugural Carolina Annual Fund Video Contest. The contest – open to all current undergraduate and graduate students, as well as alumni with undergraduate degrees from the classes 2000-2009 – features the theme “Thanks to Carolina.” There will be three prizes: Grand Prize, $500; Runner-Up Prize, $250; and an Audience Choice Prize, $500. Entries that win the Grand Prize or Runner-Up Prize also will be eligible for the Audience Choice Prize, making a total prize of $1,000 possible. Entries will be accepted from today (Oct. 26) through Nov. 29. They must run two minutes or less and be posted to a YouTube page created by the contestant. Entries meeting contest rules will be posted to a Carolina Annual Fund Video Contest YouTube page for audience voting (votes will be the number of video “views”) at http://www.youtube.com/user/ThanksToCarolina. Audience-choice voting will take place Dec. 1-31. Go to http://giving.unc.edu/contest/ to enter a video and to read complete details and rules. The contest is sponsored by the Carolina Annual Fund, which raises private funds to support UNC’s academic excellence.
