The Holiday Blood Drive on Dec. 13 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill produced 384 productive units for distribution by the American Red Cross.

“The blood collected at this drive can be turned into more than 1,152 products that will help sustain the lives of the sick and injured in area hospitals,” said Katrina Coble, drive chair. “These donations will have an incredible impact and are deeply appreciated.”

Donors and volunteers are invited to give feedback at www.unc.edu/blood. The next major drive on campus, also sponsored by UNC and the Red Cross, will be on June 5 in the Dean E. Smith Center. As always, donors from the surrounding area are invited.

“The blood was collected during a critical time for us as we approach the holidays,” said Robin Sparrow of the Red Cross. “We are so proud of our relationship with UNC. Our sincere thanks to the decision makers for the continued support of our program.”
