The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill ranks 41st among global universities, according to the 2012 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) released by The Center for World Class Universities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University on August 15. UNC was ranked 42nd in 2011 and 41st in 2010. This year, Harvard University placed first, followed by Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. |

Until now, the only way to find out what people in the United States eat and how many calories they consume has been government data, which can lag behind the rapidly expanding and changing food marketplace. Researchers from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill are trying to change that by creating a gargantuan map of what foods Americans are buying and eating.
