Carolina faculty and administrators can share their expertise 24/7 with national TV networks, cable or local TV stations, and radio stations for news interviews from our on-campus news studio.

The state-of-the-art studio allows for live and pre-recorded interviews utilizing our Sony XDCAM HD Camcorders, outfitted for studio use.  An adjacent control room handles technical operations for interviews in the studio.

Carolina News Studio is staffed by engineers and producers with decades of combined experience in live and taped interviews.  In addition to overseeing studio interviews, the staff can shoot interview subjects and supporting b-roll out in the field on XDCAM HD cartridges with the Sony PDW-F355.  A Final Cut Pro editing suite compliments the non-linear workflow of the studio.

For recorded or live feeds to radio stations, the studio is also equipped with ISDN connectivity using Telos’ Zephyr Xstream codec.

The Carolina News Studio is a partnership between University Relations and the School of Journalism and Mass Communication.  The studio is conveniently located on central campus in Carroll Hall, home of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
