PlayMakers Repertory Company, the professional theatre in residence at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, has chosen Hannah Grannemann as its new managing director. Grannemann will head the administrative organization of PlayMakers, part of UNC’s College of Arts and Sciences. She will work with Joseph Haj, producing artistic director, as the company continues to expand its programming and community outreach. Previously, Grannemann was associate managing director of Yale Repertory Theatre in New Haven, Conn., and associate producer of opening events for the new Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. She has worked with C.W. Shaver & Co. Inc. – a New York firm specializing in nonprofit management and fundraising for arts groups – and the New York-based companies New York Stage & Film, Snug Harbor Productions and Active Eye. Grannemann holds master’s degrees in fine arts in theatre management and business administration from Yale University. “Working with Joe Haj and the staff at PlayMakers is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of creating a rich theatre experience for our community and artists that will have significant, positive impact on their lives,” Grannemann said. “I’m delighted to join the UNC and Triangle communities.” Thomas C.
