UNC to honor author Richard Wright E-mail

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will commemorate the life and work of African-American novelist, essayist and poet Richard Wright with free public events Saturday (April 12) and Sunday (April 13). Multiple campus units will present dramatic readings, scholarly papers and more to mark the centennial of Wright’s birth.

Religious scholar Gomes to present annual Keohane Lecture April 9 E-mail

Peter Gomes, a visiting professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University, will deliver a free public lecture titled “The Scandalous Gospel of Jesus: What’s So Good About the Good News?,” at 7 p.m. Wednesday (April 9) in the auditorium of UNC’s Tate-Turner-Kuralt Building on Pittsboro Street.
