Bert Fox, photography director for the Charlotte Observer, will discuss his 33-year career and show his work from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday (April 22) in Carroll Hall at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Fox started his journalism career as a cub reporter in northern Utah. He then worked in Oregon as a photojournalist, in Philadelphia as a picture editor and art director and as a picture editor for National Geographic.

Fox’s honors include having been named Picture Editor of the Year five times by the University of Missouri in its annual contest.

The free public program in 33 Carroll Hall will be presented by the UNC student chapter of the National Press Photographers Association, which is based in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
